Dr. Mathieson completed her undergraduate studies at Agnes Scott College in Decatur, Georgia. She earned her Doctorate of Dental Medicine from Nova Southeastern University, graduating at the top of her class, and was inducted into the Omicron Kappa Upsilon Honor Dental Society. Dr. Mathieson was involved in the community during her time in dental school by volunteering at numerous events, including a medical mission trip to Jamaica to provide dental care to the underserved population. She completed her orthodontic residency at the University of Colorado Denver, where she received her Masters of Dental Science Degree and Certificate in Orthodontics.

Dr. Mathieson is a member of the American Association of Orthodontics, the American Dental Association, the Georgia Dental Association, the Southern Association of Orthodontists, and the American Association of Women Dentists. She is board-eligible, having passed the written examination offered by the American Board of Orthodontics.

When Dr. Mathieson is not practicing orthodontics, she enjoys spending time with her family, including her husband, David, her dog, Zep, and two cats, Mango and Rocky. She enjoys sewing, playing tennis, hiking, and camping.
